Mood Booster, Aphrodisiac and Life Saver?

Hello, Chocolate? I want to marry you. Aside from your very well known mood boosting (phenyl-ethylamine - PEA) and aphrodisiac (tryptophan) qualities,  I'm taking to heart the findings of a recent study stating that dark chocolate can lower your blood pressure and even possibly reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.

As with most things that our taste buds deem supremely divine, the trick is in moderation, right? So having one ounce of 70% dark chocolate with coffee (and skim or 1% milk) in the afternoon is a fantastic way to disconnect from the frenzy and reward yourself for a hard day's work. The mental and physical benefits outweigh your reasons not to do it.

As a sexy side note, a team of Italian urologists from San Raffaele hospital, Milan, questioned 163 women about their consumption of chocolate as well as their experience of sexual fulfillment. Dr Andrea Salonia, author of the study found that women who eat chocolate feel significantly more sexually fulfilled than those who don’t. So ladies, Ka-Pow! Add that tidbit to your arsenal in your quest for achieving a gratifying big-O!

And finally, to learn and taste more on this topic, I fully intend to partake in this year's Chocolate Festival in Denver which runs May 7-8. We took the family last year and could hardly contain ourselves. Quite naturally, moderation is your challenge at this event. :)
