Music of the Moment: Club Kids, Rock Band Remnants and The Finger...

I'm not a huge fan of holiday music, so here's a sample of what's rocking the rotation on my playlist instead.

Neon Trees - Animal
Dance around and let this one get stuck in your head. It's silly, happy go monkey type fun! I turn into an awful 80's dancer over this song.

Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
On the rare occasion that I make it outside, this song servers as a good boost of self esteem. That is, once I mentally turn into the mean girl Mike Posner is singing about.

Queens of the Stone Age - Go with the Flow
I miss playing Rock Band every time I hear this song. Then I start to miss dark, angry alternative crooners. Btw, in gaming news, Viacom is selling of Harmonix, the developers of Rock Band and Guitar Hero amid an apparent loss in earnings. WTF? I don't even want to think about a world without Rock Band.

Cee Lo Green - F**k You
You can't sing the original version in front of the kids (or the boss for that matter) but it's still overly catchy. This month Green received five Grammy nominations for his work on f*** you, one of which is song of the year. Hmm, now you have to wonder how the song will be performed on national TV. (FYI, the alt version is called Forget You which Gwenneth Paltrow recently sang on Glee.)
