Aside from their Rock Band Fame, this band would be almost completely off my radar. But thanks to the good people at MTV and Rock Band I know all of their work. Thanks to my nerds, I had enough Flyleaf MP3s to urge me to get VIP seating at their concert last night at the Fillmore with Seether.
I wouldn't have guessed they were a Christian Rock band, but the lyrics in a few of their song are powerful and full of conviction, just not in the conventional method that one would expect. In particular, I'm a fan of the acoustic version of "Cassie" as well as "I'm so sick"and "All around me." Heck, I like all of it... who'd have guessed?
The concert was awesome, each of the three bands broke out into a Nine Inch Nails track (Flyleaf sang Something I can never have) and we had phenomenal table seating and cocktail service up front. It was Über-nerd's first rock concert ever, and he said VIP was the only way to fly...
